Sponsored Partner Session: High Power Pulse (HPEP) Rock Breaking - Sponsored by Petram Technologies

Saturday, March 8 | 10:45 - 11:15 a.m. | Speaker: Frank "Franco" Magnotti, CEO and Co-Founder, Petram Technologies

With less than 1 kwh of energy, 2GW of power is transmitted to an ounce of water in a pre-drilled hole creating a dense plasma bubble at 10000 degrees F. When the plasma bubble bursts, a 220,000-psi shock wave is transmitted to the rock or concrete. Since it is stronger than the rock or concrete, cracks rip through the target material in dendritic patterns like the root of a plant. 1-10 cubic yds of material are cracked per shot. What is amazing is this can be performed within feet of critical infrastructure like a gas pipeline with less than 1% of the noise, vibration, and dust of a jackhammer.
