Effective Blight Elimination Communication Strategies
Tuesday, December 1, 2020, 11:00 AM - 12:30 PM Eastern (10:00 AM – 11:30 AM Central)
Explore how demolition industry and local blight elimination programs can communicate effectively with neighbors and neighborhoods.
This webinar will feature community and industry perspectives on blight elimination communication strategies that effectively inform neighborhoods about the potential health and safety impacts of individual demolitions, as well as broader revitalization initiatives. Highlighted communications techniques include door hangers, flyers, posters, contractor trainings, neighbor text alerts, and demolition web portals. Messaging strategies on public health and revitalization initiatives will also be discussed. Removing blight is oftentimes the initial steps towards a better neighborhood future – How is that larger vision communicated to neighbors? Hear an overview of industry outreach efforts from the National Demolition Association, and recent demolition program experiences from Warren, OH; St. Louis, MO; and Detroit, MI; both before and during the COVID pandemic.
Agenda:
