ASCEND LA’s Management Program
Building on decades of experience as business owners and educators, Kelly Rolfe and Associates, LLC will lead a cohort of diverse small businesses through ASCEND LA utilizing the CBEST (Certified Business Enterprise Training) Program. This 20-session training focuses on the business foundation, capacity, and capital necessary to acquire corporate and government contracts.

Program Fee: Free for qualified businesses
Application Deadline: June 30, 2020
Acceptance Notifications: July 10, 2020
Registration: All participants must be registered by July 21, 2020
We begin August 7, 2020 and continue through November 2020.
- 20 sessions will be delivered online alternating on Tuesdays and Thursdays, 6-9pm.
- The program will host 3 mixers with contracting agencies/prime contractors and a graduation ceremony.
What will you learn?
The program is broken down into 5 Modules and integrates instruction from USC professors along with experts in contracting, procurement, supplier diversity, lending, and professional business services:
- Business Foundation - Business Model, Scaling for Growth: Team, Systems & Controls; Management/Leadership; HR/Staffing; Innovation, Automation & Technology.
- Accounting and Financial- Accounting/Bookkeeping Requirements; Financial Statements; Operating Budget; Taxes: Business Capital & Credit; and Funding your Business.
- Contract Acquisition & Management- Procurement Opportunities; Applying for contracts and preparing RFPs; Certification & Registration with procurement systems; Bidding and Estimates; and Insurance & Bonding.
- Sales & Marketing-Growth Hacking; Marketing; Sales; and Social Media.
- Pitching- Pitching Your Business.
