Last month we talked about the rising price of housing across the country, which is mainly being driven by the limited supply and growing cost of building materials. And while lumber has been getting much of the attention for its high prices and limited availability, cement is actually becoming equally expensive and hard to procure. Some suppliers are even putting contractors on weekly limits for concrete products, which further delays construction and raises prices for those projects.
